The Hectic Schedule of a Social Media Manager

Often times when people ask me what I do for a living, they don’t really understand when I say I’m a “social media specialist”. So, I often hear my friends ask me, “So you play on Facebook all day?”. Not quite.

As part of my job every day, I manage social media accounts and digital identities for my clients. It’s hard to explain a typical day at Social Vision Marketing for me. Every day is different and filled with new and fun projects. However, just as social media is 24/7, my job can be the same way. I don’t take days off and I’m constantly checking Facebook, Twitter and my e-mail for mentions of my clients and conversations around their brands.

So, I was happy to see this info-graphic from SocialCast last week. My day is fairly similar to what they have outlined, except I’m also a business owner. I love my job and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It allows me to meet all sorts of new and interesting people via the social networks every day. I also get to be a part of each of my clients’ worlds – I get to learn all aspects of their business, meet their friends and followers while helping them grow their businesses.
