Calling all pet owners for the first-ever social media conference and exposition for the online pet community! BarkWorld Expo was created by pet owners with a focus on social media and pets. I have been assisting on the planning of BarkWorld since February. Let me tell you, it is going to be a super fun event for pet owners, business owners and anyone looking to learn about social media. The event takes place in Atlanta, GA on August 20-22 at one of Atlanta’s premiere destinations, Atlantic Station.
The Speakers of BarkWorld Expo | August 20-22, 2010
The three-day event is filled with over 20 wonderful and influential speakers in the world of social media. The weekend’s Keynote Speakers include Carie Lewis, the Director of Emerging Media at The Humane Society of the United States; Lynn Haigh, the founder of PawPawty.com; Sloane Kelley, the Director of Interactive Strategy (and my sister) of BFG Communications; Natalie Malaszenko, the Director of Social Media & Commerce at PETCO as well as tons of other engaging speakers.
The event will cover a range of topics including branding, PR, marketing and sales, blogging and analytics, search engine optimization, community involvement, marketing for non-profits, face-to-face networking and tons of cool social media tricks. You can learn how to build social media campaigns from scratch, how to engage your customers virtually, what tools to use, how to increase your brand recognition, how to distinguish yourself in an already crowded field and so many more interesting topics.
GMC Bark and Ride
Stay tuned to my Twitter stream and Facebook updates come August 20th. I will be participating in GMC’s Bark and Ride as I carpool with other fun pet owners as we drive and ride from Southern Georgia to Atlanta in a fully-equipped GMC Terrain. If you’d like to hitch a ride to BarkWorld, tweet using #GMCBarkNRide and you may be picked as one of the riders from six different destinations in the eastern United States.
I hope to see you in Atlanta!
